Hooray, October is here. Leaves are changing colors and falling on sidewalks and gathering to be walked through and crushed to make crunch, crunch as you walk along.

It is also a month of imagination. October is the Month of Free Thought and October 12 is a whole day of Free Thought.

Right-Brainers Rule Month is also in October. Now this is where you step outside that comfort zone to write, doodle or paint. The other thought is that you could wear something silly like a hat, shirt or tie, maybe a fun bracelet.

I am not sure how this works but it is National Sarcastic Awareness and Positive Attitude Month. So "Are you positive that was sarcastic?" may be a question to ask yourself. My husband will most likely answer yes to that question when he is talking to me. All this kind of goes with Silly Saying Day on the 13th.

We are unable to forget about food at anytime. On a serious note, it is Tackling Hunger Month. Help support local food shelves in the area. It is also Chili Month and, to improve everything, it is National Popcorn Poppin' Month. Apple Month and National Caramel Month come together on the 31st for National Caramel Apple Day. Super hooray!

We could think a little creepy and safely this time of year with Halloween Safety Month. It is also Bat Appreciation Month. Go get all those mosquitoes.

This is my kind of week because it is Great Books Week -- oh and there are so, so many. It is Mystery Series Week, too. I'm just not sure how to get a whole series done in a week but maybe starting one could work.

Look out on the eighth for it is Octopus Day. You never know when one is going to come out of the water and get you.
