Lisa’s Logic: Remembering James Best
James Best, 88, passed away earlier this week due to complications from pneumonia.
I learned that he was in numerous shows and movies, like a Ma and Pa Kettle film, Andy Griffith Show, The Twilight Zone Show, and starred with Burt Reynolds in Hooper. He was a very busy guy. He was in a cable movie a couple of years ago and he was going to start production on a film later this year.
James Best did stage work and wrote Best in Hollywood: The Good, The Ugly, and the Beautiful. He even taught, some students included Lindsay Wagner, Roger Miller, Glen Campbell, and Regis Philbin
For me, though, I will remember him as Sheriff RosCO ... P. Coltrane chasing those Duke boys on The Dukes of Hazzard. Here are a few of his one liners:
- Hush.
- Freezze!
- I'm gonna cuff ya and stuff ya.
- I'm in hot pursuit!
- Kew, kew I love it, I love it!
- You dipstick!
- Buckle up for safety, Flash.
Let's also remember those who have passed away earlier this year,
- Leonard Nimoy, 83
- Singer-Songwriter Lesley Gore
- Correspondent for 60 Minutes Bob Simon, 73.
- Hall of Famer Ernie Banks, two-time MVP for the Chicago Cubs
- Little Jimmy Dickens, 94
- Donna Douglas, 88, Ellie May on the Beverly Hillbillies
