Ellendale celebrated summer with movies, music, food, car show and garage sales during Ellendale Days. The fire department did something really cool this year. They put the American flag on the ladder truck and raised it high. So cool. B-Side Band was on Friday night and they had a nice bluesy sound.

Saturday I was up and out early to catch some deals at the garage sales around town. It was a hot day and I must have been hoping that it would cool down because I bought and noticed quite a lot of winter and snow things. I bought two snowmen mugs, two hooded sweatshirts and a pair of heavy-duty mittens for my husband. Many of the garage sales had Christmas and snow-related stuff, so I tried to keep it to a minimum.

As it was getting closer to 9AM, I made my way to the car show. It is so cool to see all those classic cars in one area and just admire them. I have noticed that a different car will have a skeleton in it and this year it had a wig on. Fun. The tunes were going too.

At 10AM, I went to a canvas painting class. I was the only student. It was nice she still held the class. This time it was called Freedom Flag. It was a little less detail than the Barn Quilt painting, but it took just as long. Mainly because of the painting around the stars and the corners. It turned out very nicely, if I may say so myself, and I do. I was a little messier this time. She also held a Sea Turtle painting class for younger artists and there were five plus an adult. There would have been maybe two but I couldn't stay. It looked like a cute picture.

My husband and I also looked at a few garage sales when he came home from work. He found a couple of more things. It was a nice day for a walk. Then we went to my nephew's grad party, which was fun too.
