Three seniors and a junior sit atop the leader board at the Minnesota Boys State AA Golf Meet in Jordan after the opening round of the tournament.  Lake City Tiger Thomas Huettl is tied with two other golfers with opening scores of 71.  Nate Deziel of East Grand Forks is in the lead by two strokes following a 69 (34-35).  Heuttl shot a (36-35).  Red Wing junior Cecil Belisle had a (36-35).

Rochester Lourdes junior Luke Alexander had an opening round 73 (34-39).  Byron senior Hunter Fjersted shot a 75 (38-37).  Rochester Lourdes junior Kyle Hickey tallied a 75 (36-39) on the Ridges at Sand Creek course in Jordan.   Detroit Lakes has the lead by three strokes over Holy Family Catholic.

Section One representative Red Wing is in third place 12 strokes behind the leader.

Other individual golfers from the area include Stewartville senior Carter Van Tassel with a 77 (39-38) good enough for a tie for 24th place.  Maple River junior Andrew Hoppe shot a 78 (37-41).
