No matter your musical taste, you are likely to hear it coming from the KRFO Radio stage at the Steele County Free Fair. The stage is between the Four Seasons Centre and the 4-H building.

The fair opens Tuesday, Aug. 18. Jake Jones takes the KRFO stage at 5:45PM, followed by Pumper, Peddler & The Politician at 7PM.

Wednesday, Aug. 19, the Jill Hoggard Dancers twirl and jive across the stage at 2PM. Dain's Dutchmen perform at 3:15PM. The Bluegrass Review entertains at 5:30PM. DeKam & Johnson follow at 6:30PM and Dennis Warner & the D's close out day two of the fair at 8PM.

Thursday's music at the KRFO stage includes Flemming Fold at 3:45PM, Dave Williams at 7PM and country music group Darlene and the Boys at 8:15PM.

On Friday, Aug. 21, the KRFO stage features the music of Greta Jacobson at 2PM. Line dancing and square dancing kick up some dust beginning at 6PM.

The fiddling of Stanley Koslosky takes the stage Saturday at 2PM. Lisa Murphy, the Singing Cowgirl, plays at 4PM. American Pie, featuring music of the '50s and '60s, performs at 5:30PM. The Dueling Pianos wrap up the day at 7:30PM.

Sunday, Aug. 23, the KRFO stage lineup starts with Witness at 1PM. The Stix of Fury drum corps from Blooming Prairie stirs things up at 2:30PM. Lisa Murphy is back at 3:15PM. The Banjo Boy Variety Band is the final scheduled act at 5PM.

Several of the on-stage acts also will be heard on-air evenings on Kat Kountry 105FM.

The watermelon seed spitting and ladies nail driving on-air contests are held each day alongside the KRFO stage Tuesday through Saturday.

The annual Jerry Kent / Steele County Sixth Grade Spelling Bee is Thursday, Aug. 20, at 2PM.

Watch a performance of Twin Cities-based Funktion Junction at a metro-area event. They played the KRFO stage last year as a first-time act at the Steele County Fair. In 2015, they move to the Fair Square stage.
