The Minnesota Twins 'Playball' youth baseball / softball clinic in Owatonna taught kids some of the basics of hitting, fielding and throwing.

A big group of local baseball and softball players learned from the pros on June 28 at Morehouse Park in Owatonna. The 6-16 year-olds attended the Playball clinic, presented by the Minnesota Twins. Players received a t-shirt, a Playball! MN gift and a picnic lunch.

Locally Youth1st.com helped promote the event.

Play Ball! Minnesota was created in 2004 as a partnership between the Twins Community Fund and the organizations that operate youth baseball and softball programs throughout the state of Minnesota. It is a first of its kind collaboration on youth recreation in the region. The goals of Play Ball! Minnesota is to promote and advance the games of baseball and softball for youth. (read more)
