It was a tough night for the B.A. Cardinals at the moat in Kenyon of Friday night as the Knights controlled the ball and shut out the Cardinals. Kenyon-Wanamingo is now 2-1 and Bethlehem Academy is 0-3.

Kenyon-Wanamingo took the ball to the goal line on their opening drive, but did not score due to a penalty and that kept the Cardinals deep in their own territory. The cardinals went three and out and gave the ball back to the Knights with good field position. knight quarterback Jack Beulke then connected with Gavin Roosen for a touchdown and with Beulke's kick it was 7-0. The Knights recovered a squib on the kickoff. After the Cardinals turned the ball over later on to the Knights again Calven Steberg had a 30-yard touchdown run. The extra point failed and it was 13-0.

The Cardinal defense played hard in the first half but the offense was plagued with issues. Steberg intercepeted a pass and the Knights drove 33 yards. Steberg then got his second touchdown of the night and the two-point conversion worked and at the half it was 21-0.

The Knights scored twice again in the third-quarter to make it 35-0. With some of the reserves on late in the third and fourth quarters, the Knights did not move the ball as well.

The Knights travel to face Mankato Loyola next week. They lost to Medford 44-0, giving the Tigers their first win in over two years. The Cardinals will host Medford at Bruce Smith Field Friday night at 7PM.
