[UPDATE] The scheduled game for Tuesday has been moved to Wednesday, June 1, due to the forecast and field conditions.

OHS beat Rochester Century 5-4 Monday in Rochester in a game that started two days earlier in Owatonna. Wednesday the Huskies will host Lakeville South in the 1AAAA semifinal.

The Huskies built a 5-1 lead after four innings then held off a Panthers comeback for the 5-4 victory in the quarterfinals on the section tournament. Monday's action was held at Alumni Field in Rochester, home of the JM Rockets. After Saturday's rain-out at Dartt's Park, section officials decided that Owatonna and Century should play in Rochester as the loser would have to play again. Century lost to JM 10-0 in six innings in that elimination game on Monday.

Wednesday Owatonna will host Lakeville South. The No. 7 seed Cougars upset No. 2 Rochester JM 6-4 to open the Memorial Day schedule.

The Huskies-Panthers game resumed in the bottom of the first inning, where play had been suspended at Fuller Field on Saturday. Owatonna (No. 3 seed) broke through in the third inning. Alec Holcomb and Sam Hylle drove in runs with back-to-back singles. Brett Solie reached on an error as a third run scored.

The Panthers scored one in the fourth. Clay Leidall hit a batter with two outs. The next man hit a booming double.

OHS scratched together two more in the bottom of the fourth. Brady Schuster singled. Noah Budach doubled him home. Blake Westphal laid down a bunt and Century attempted to throw out Budach at third, but he made it there before the tag. A Kodey Keil fielder's choice drove in Budach to make it 5-1 Huskies, which proved to be the decisive run.

Century scored three in the sixth with a couple of hits and a pair of Owatonna errors. The Panthers stranded two on base in the sixth and seventh. Westphal made a nice catch to end the game in center field, making a half slide to secure the third out with the tying run at third base.

Leidall went the distance for the win. Owatonna (13-8) will host Lakeville South at 5PM Wednesday at Fuller Field at Dartt's Park on Kat Kountry 105FM. The loser will play Rochester JM about 7:30PM.
