In a battle of unbeaten teams, #4 OHS hosts top-ranked Mankato West Friday at 7:00. Pre-game at 6:40 on AM 1390, online at krforadio.com and with the free RadioPup app.

The recent history between these two teams has featured a couple of memorable games. Last year, the Huskies edged the Scarlets on a game ending field goal 24-21. In 2012 they met in the state tournament quarterfinals, with Owatonna blanking West 28-0.

Owatonna graduated most of the starting line-up from last year's state championship team. West brings back 10 of their 11 offensive starters! That includes quarterback Ryan Schlitchte who has started the season with 821 yards passing, 13 touchdowns and zero interceptions through the first three weeks. Those wins have come over Albert Lea, Northfield and Mankato East, who are a combined 2-7 on the season.

Owatonna has beaten Winona, Century and Faribault (combined 3-6).

The Star Tribune rates this game as one of the "Top Games in the State."

Huskies senior running back Julius Franklin leads the Big Nine in rushing with 625 yards and 6 touchdowns. That yardage total is one of the best in the state, as well.

OHS senior defensive back Justin Tacheny will attempt to contain Schlichte and his receiving corps.

Friday's game is Tackle Cancer Night.
