Laura Ebeling made 28 saves to lead Owatonna to a 1-1 overtime tie with Northfield Thursday night. Sydney Hunst scored on a deflection for their only goal.

Ebeling made a dazzling kick save on a point-blank chance with one minute to go in regulation to force overtime. She added six more saves in the extra session, which included several on a Northfield power play.

After a scoreless first period, Owatonna found the back of the net early in the second. Margo Achterkirch won control of the puck on the right half wall. She found Grace Wolfe near the blue line with a pass. Wolfe's blast was deflected into the goal at 38 seconds by Hunst, her fifth goal of the season.

Northfield answered back near the midway point of the second on a shot from the edge of the crease by Maddie LaPanta to make the score 1-1. The Huskies went 5-for-5 on penalty kill. Northfield out shot Owatonna 29-12. OHS (8-5-1, 7-0-1 in Big Nine) plays host to Big Nine-leading Rochester John Marshall Saturday at 7PM at Four Seasons.

Owatonna boys' hockey lost to conference-leading Northfield 5-3. The Raiders jumped ahead 2-0 but the Huskies squared the game at 2-2 by first intermission. Northfield burst ahead 4-2 by the end of two. The Huskies got within 4-3, but the Raiders added an empty net goal for the 5-3 final. Owatonna (4-6, 1-2 Big Nine) plays at Rochester John Marshall Saturday at 7:15PM on KRFO AM 1390.

The Huskies' girls' basketball team beat Rochester Mayo 62-52. Sydney Schultz scored 28 points. Owatonna (7-2, 6-1 Big Nine) plays a make up game at Winona Saturday night.

NRHEG boys' basketball improved to 10-0 with a 50-43 win over WEM. The Panther girls beat the Buccaneers 54-41.
