Travel time is a coming with the holidays. Sure is nice to see the gas prices where they are. Triple-A reports supplies of crude oil are running ahead of demand. Nationwide the average price at the pump is $2.42 a gallon. It's the lowest of the year.

Oklahoma and Missouri check in with the lowest prices in the nation at $2.01 a gallon with Hawaii at the other end of the spectrum at $3.52 a gallon followed by California at $3.44 a gallon.

Things are looking good in Minnesota with an average price for a gallon of gas at $2.29. The lowest state prices are found in Morrison and Kanabec counties with some stations selling gas for less than $2.10 a gallon. The highest prices are in parts of Northern Minnesota and the Metro with prices reaching over $2.50 in some places. Overall Minnesota gas prices are down more than 30 cents from last month and the current price is 12 cents less than December 2017.
