The Steele County Historical Society invites members and potential members to an open house on June 18 from 4-7PM. This will be your opportunity to learn of the benefits of being or becoming a member of the Steele County Historical Society.

Topics to be covered that day include a behind the scenes look at the History Center, which includes the archives and artifact storage area. You'll also learn how artifacts are accepted and stored. You will find out how exhibits are chosen and developed. Learn about the educational programming available for you and your family. You'll have the opportunity to make an appointment to learn how to search in the genealogy area.

The open house also will include visits to the Village buildings and meet the interpretive and tour guides. Information on the rental facilities and services will be provided.

The society also will be giving away two memberships or two membership renewals that day.

If you need more information, call them at (507) 451-1420.
