He first sang in bars with his dad and traveled to Nashville and has over 10 No. 1s: Mark Chesnutt.

Mark Chesnutt's dad, Bob, was a singer who took Mark to sing along at bars in Beaumont, Texas. Singing covers of Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings and George Jones, Mark developed his country style.

At 17, Mark and his dad went to Nashville. Music executives also heard Mark in Texas and he signed a contract in 1989. His first single was "Too Cold At Home."

At the 1993 CMAs, George Jones introduced him, " A boy from Beaumont, Texas, who is the real deal." Mark won the Horizon Award and Vocal Event of the Year singing "I Don't Need Your Rocking Chair" with George Jones, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Travis Tritt, Joe Diffie, Alan Jackson, Pam Tillis, T. Graham Brown, Patty Loveless and Clint Black.

He toured and he topped the charts with 14 No.1s and over 20 Top Tens. Some songs include:

  • "Bubba Shot the Jukebox"
  • "Blame It On Texas"
  • "It Sure Is Monday"
  • "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" which topped the charts for four weeks.

Mark Chesnutt and his wife, Tracie, have been married since 1992 and have three sons.
