Shania Twain has selected her second single from her upcoming album Now: "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed." The country star performed the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (Aug. 16).

Readers can press play above to see Twain's Tonight Show performance; she previously performed "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed" on Today, during her mid-June appearance on the show. Twain says “the fighter in [her]” is responsible for "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed," which features an island-inspired beat, horns and lyrics such as “I'm swingin' with my eyes closed / Got my hair down / A wide-open road / I'm swingin' with my eyes closed / Only God knows how far it goes ..."

“I was thinking of a boxer taking a swing, or a baby first coming out with his eyes and fists closed,” Twain explains of the inspiration for “Swingin' With My Eyes Closed.” “They can’t even see yet and they’re swinging with their eyes closed.”

Shania Twain Through the Years

“It’s just all of a sudden the light went on and there was light as well as darkness,” she notes. “There’s a lot of songs that have that contrast on it that maybe are too subtle for the listener to even realize.”

As a single, "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed" follows "Life's About to Get Good," Twain's first single from Now. The album, due out on Sept. 29, will be her first in 15 years; to celebrate, Twain will embark on her Shania Now Tour in 2018.

The song will officially impact country radio on Sept. 18. Twain notes that “Swingin' With My Eyes Closed” actually started out “totally dark” — and then, it took a turn.
