Ellendale Harvest Run Set for September

The Fifth Annual Harvest Run for Hunger will be on Saturday, Sept. 19. All proceeds will be donated to the local food shelves. It takes place at Zion Lutheran Church, which is at 7126 S.W. 98th St. in Ellendale.

The entry fee for the:

• 4K walk is $20
• 7K run is $25
• Cycling $20
• Fees increase by $5 if submitted after Sept. 5.

Race day registration begins at 7AM.

The 7K run will begin at 9AM and the 4K walk begins at 8:30AM. The walk begins and ends at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. Just a side note that walkers may register at Zion or Pontoppidan.

The cycling begins at Pontoppidan Lutheran at 8:45AM.

There is also a Youth Run for those 10 and younger and it is a 400M. Registration will be from 8-9:30AM at either Zion Church or Pontoppidan Church, with the race beginning at 9:45AM at Pontoppidan Church.

Also a note, donations of nonperishable food items will be accepted.

The directions to Zion Lutheran Church from Owatonna are:

• I-35 to County Road 4, Exit 32, toward Hope.
• Turn right onto County Road 4 - County Road 14
• Turn right onto County Road 4
• Turn left onto County Road 4, also SW 81st
• Turn left on County Road 182, also SW 72nd Ave.
• Turn left onto SW 98th St. with the church on the left.

Last year there were 19 participants.
