NRHEG plays Monday night against WEM in the 2AA south subsection finals at 7:30PM at MSU-Mankato on Kat Kountry 105FM. Meanwhile the Section 1 finals are set.

The Panthers get their third opportunity of the season against the Buccaneers after dropping 64-55 and 65-48 decisions. NRHEG coach Onika Peterson talked of the keys to the game during the KRFO coach show on Saturday.

Both the Panthers and the Bucs had to come from behind in their subsection semifinal games at Mankato East on Thursday. WEM eliminated NRHEG from the playoffs last season.

Section 1 girls basketball update

The 1AAAA final is an intercity battle for Lakeville North and Lakeville South, who will meet at the Mayo Civic Center on Thursday night at 6PM. North beat John Marshall on Saturday 50-43 while South eliminated Century 53-42.

Winona and Kasson-Mantorville is a battle of top five-ranked teams for the Section 1AAA crown Thursday at 8PM at the Mayo Civic Center Arena.

On Friday, March 11, Goodhue will battle Rushford-Peterson at 6PM in the 1A final. The top-ranked Wildcats had to rally from a 10-point deficit with two minutes to go against Lyle/Pacelli to reach the section finals.

Plainview-Elgin-Millville and Dover-Eyota square off for the 1AA title Friday at 8PM. PEM is No. 1AA. DE is the defending state champion.
