School is out and summer is unofficially here.  To help celebrate, Owatonna Park and Rec will be once again have Movies in the Park on the third Friday during the summer months,  with a rain date on Saturday.

Movies in the Park will be in Central Park in Owatonna with the movie beginning at sunset. Some games and activities will be one hour before the movie begins.

The first movie will be on June 17 with Daddy Day Care starring Eddie Murphy, who will probably have a couple of extra parts in the movie. Steve Zahn and Anjelica Huston will also keep the laughs going. Two fathers start a Daddy Day Care after losing their jobs and the kids take over. Friday's weather so far looks good and remember the rain date will be the 18th.

The Good Dinosaur from Disney Pixar will be the movie on July 15 and taking place at Brown Park near Hy-Vee. From 2015, this animated film puts human and dinosaurs as friends. The fun thing about animated films is trying to figure out the voices. Rain date will be the 16th.

The third movie in Owatonna Park and Rec Movies in the Park will actually be on the second Saturday, August 12, and the rain date on the 13th. That is due to the Steele County Free Fair Aug. 16-21. Rio 2 is a story about a family of parrots from Rio in the Amazon jungle.

Remember to put lawn chairs and blankets in the car and maybe something to munch. There will be some concessions available.
