OHS Boys Basketball won their season opener at Century 72-45. Owatonna girls hockey topped Eveleth Gilbert 5-1. Prep Bowl update too.

OHS boys basketball scored a 72-45 season-opening win at Rochester Century behind a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures. Alex Emanuelson had 14. Daniel Boubin & Mason Thein scored 13 apiece. Dexter Leer contributed 12. Thein grabbed 13 rebounds. Owatonna's b-squad won 57-30. The Huskies host Mankato East Tuesday night at 7:30, with the game to be heard on KRFO AM 1390.

Owatonna girls hockey scored a 5-1 victory over Eveleth-Gilbert with a pair of players netting their first career goal. Megan Foss & Jenna VonRuden scored back-to-back goals midway through the second period to help the Huskies grab control of the game. Margo Achterkirch completed her HAT TRICK shortly after Foss and VonRuden scored their goals. OHS plays at Mankato East Saturday at 6:00.

PREP BOWL, STATE FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Eden Prairie defended its 'big school' championship with a come-from-behind 28-27 win over Totino-Grace. EP held on for the win by stopping TG's 2-point conversion attempt with about 90 seconds left.

Becker whipped DeLaSalle 24-6 for the 4A title, forcing six turnovers along the way.

Grand Meadow stomped on Edgerton/Ellsworth 48-0 to repeat as 9-man champs.

Holdingford tied the AA title game on the final play of regulation, then beat BOLD 20-18 in double overtime.
