Governor Mark Dayton has announced that November 23 will be "Free Park Friday" in Minnesota. This means that entrance fees to all Minnesota state parks and recreation areas will be waived on the day after Thanksgiving.

Research shows the average American will consume around 4,500 calories on Thanksgiving Day. A brisk walk can burn about 300 calories in one hour. So stuff your self on Thursday and then head to a state park free of charge on Friday and start burning those calories off.

Most state park offices and visitor centers will be either unstaffed or minimally staffed on Friday, November 23.
