The Owatonna Degner Regional Airport added a free movie to its annual French Toast breakfast weekend. A crowd of about 200 watched Disney's Planes Saturday night.

Saturday's drive-in / fly-in breakfast had a good turnout as well, although fog in some parts of Minnesota kept the plane numbers a bit lower than expected. The event is a fundraiser for the Civil Air Patrol. The Owatonna Composite Squadron is a federally funded nonprofit that focuses on aerospace education for youth and the general public, cadet programs for teenage youth and emergency services, according to their website.

The Owatonna airport will host the John Klatt 5K runway run on Saturday, September 10, as a fundraiser for Steele County veterans. Go to www.johnklattairshows.com to register. It is an evening run beginning at 7:30PM. There will also be a kids 1-mile fun run. An open house will begin at 5PM with static plane displays, food, music and prizes.
