Former Major Leaguer to Appear in Owatonna

Former Major Leaguer and Minnesota native Mike Kingery will appear with his family in Owatonna this Sunday, November 6. The Kingery family will give a free concert at 6PM at the Christ Community Covenant Church in Owatonna. Donations will be taken for the family. The Kingery family sing primarily gospel bluegrass while incorporating fiddle, patriotic, Americana and a capella into their performances. A pie social will follow the concert.

Mike was born in St. James, Minn. When he was a baby, the family moved to Atwater, where his father ran the local bowling alley. Kingery played for six teams over 10 seasons in the major leagues. His career started with the Royals followed by the Mariners, Giants, A's, Rockies and lastly the Pirates.

Mike and his wife, Chris, are the parents of eight children.
