There are several more influenza vaccination clinics scheduled for area schools. On Monday, October 24, the public can get flu shots in the High School Media Room at the Blooming Prairie schools. Bring along your insurance card and they will bill your insurance company. Homeland Health accepts the following insurance:

  • America's PPO
  • BSBS of MN
  • HealthPartners
  • Medica
  • Medicare
  • PreferredOne
  • PrimeWest
  • South Country Health Care Alliance
  • UCare

If uninsured, you may pay for your shot with cash, no checks accepted. The cost for children ages 6 months to 18 years will be $20 and for those older than 18 it will be $35.

Everyone is encouraged to get a flu shot. It's more than just a cold. Symptoms include coughing, fever and aches. The flu can lead to pneumonia and maybe even death. Getting vaccinated also cuts down the odds of you passing on the flu to others.
