The first Farmer's Appreciation Day is just nine days away. I hope you have put Saturday June 11, on your schedule. The Farmer's Appreciation Day was expanded from the annual Farmer Appreciation Breakfast KDHL and KRFO have hosted for many years. Like usual, a free breakfast will be served but then there will be many changes. Note that this year it will be Saturday morning and it has been moved to the Rice County Fairgrounds.

The move to the Rice County Fairgrounds allows many more activities. There will be many booths set up with business and commodity groups that work with farmers. More space allows for speakers, too. Jill Sackett, with the USDA Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program, will talk about cover crops. In addition, Mark Dorenkamp with the Brownfield Network will also be there. Stay tuned to KDHL and KRFO for further details. Remember Saturday morning, June 11, from 8AM to noon and it's free.
