One of the things I look forward to each holiday season is all the beautifully decorated homes. Each year I like to drive around with my grandchildren or my wife and look at the houses that are lit up in celebration of Christmas. I enjoy them them all, whether it's a few strings of lights or the houses of Christmas chaos where they have a ton of lights and holiday-related characters all over the yard. Somewhere in between all that was the Hoban/Spence Christmas Light Show just a couple of miles outside of town just past the old Andrews Nursery. Sadly this year it won't be taking place. According to comments from Cathy Hoban on Facebook; "Typically we kick off our Christmas light and sound show on Thanksgiving evening. Unfortunately, there will be no light and sound show at 4531 197th St. E., Faribault this year due to physical reasons. Thank you and we wish you a Safe Thanksgiving and a wonderful Christmas Season. Patrick and Cathy."

I can't imagine how much hard work it was putting up their massive display of lights and figures all over their yard each year so that people from all over the surrounding community could drive through and experience a little Christmas magic. I know that everyone here at Power 96 and KDHL wishes them a speedy recovery and a happy and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. I know my family will always cherish the happy holiday memories that our traditional drive out there gave us.

If you never made it out there, here's a little taste of what you missed:
