The Exchange Club of Steele County presented Blooming Prairie Police Department Cpl. Jacob Peterson with Peace Officer of the Year on Friday, Feb. 26, according to a press release.

Peterson has been with the force for 13 years. He is one of eight officers on the Blooming Prairie force. He is also a volunteer firefighter and an emergency medical technician. Peterson is the founder of Blooming Prairie's Stix of Fury.

Each player has a voice in writing music and choreographing the shows. They perform at different events, including parades, and have been on Eagles Cancer Telethon.

The Exchange Club also donated towels, blankets and socks at the end of January to the Steele County Clothesline.
