Support was great with a full house at the Community Center for the Ellendale Fire Department on Wednesday night. Money was raised to benefit the Ellendale Fireman Relief Association. Some of the support also came from firemen from surrounding towns, including Geneva.

The meal included pulled pork sandwiches, firehouse beans, a salad bar and a variety of deserts with brownies, cookies and bars.

A silent auction was part of the evening. Some of the items included pictures, a variety of desserts -- pies, cookies and bars -- car detailing supplies and a quilt rack. A couple of items in the auction were even Christmas related.

They thank you for your support.

The Ellendale Fire Department has 21 volunteers. The department has seven trucks including a ladder truck acquired from Owatonna, multiple pumper trucks, and equipment and brush trucks.

Let's continue to support our local firemen. Here is a reminder that the Blooming Prairie Fire Department Brat and Sweet Corn Feed will be this Saturday, Aug. 29, in the Fireman's Park from 4-7PM. They are asking for a donation.
