Country Stars Answer Haters’ Most Important Questions [Watch]

While fans of country music are as loyal as can be, there are still some people out there who aren’t on board with the genre. Some of today’s most popular names sat down to answer some of their burning questions.

Dierks Bentley, Brett Young, Trace Adkins, Lauren Alaina, Brett Eldredge and more were brave enough to field questions from non-country music fans about the genre’s biggest stereotypes. Anticipated questions about Jesus, whiskey and growing up on a farm were of course at the forefront of people’s minds, but there were some pretty unexpected ones as well.

Perhaps the best question came when someone asked, “What does badonkadonk mean?” in reference to Adkins’ hit song “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk.”

“Booty!” Alaina yells as she stands up and points at her backside, while Adkins calmly — and hilariously — states that the term simply means “a well-proportioned butt.”

Country Albums for People Who Claim to Hate Country Music

Another viewer has clearly never listened to a country song, asking why every song references “kicking up hay.”

“What the hell are you listening to?” Dustin Lynch appropriately responds, with Young also being confused by the accusation. “I’m pretty sure I’m wrong, but I’ve never heard the expression ‘kicking up the hay,'” he admits.

But we think Adkins summed it up best with his retort to the puzzling question. “Somebody needs to die, somebody needs to get laid and you gotta say something about your mama. Those are things that are in every country song,” he preaches. In a final plea to these non-country fans, Lynch says, “We’re a good blend of everything right now,” as Alaina adds, “We aren’t all singing about picking up chicks and putting them in the truck bed.”

“We like lyrics about real people and real situations,” Adkins states. “Maybe you should listen to it.” We couldn’t agree more!
