Northwestern Financial Review has honored Community Bank Owatonna President Bryan Toft as one of its "rising star" bankers in its July edition.

Toft has been with Community Bank Owatonna since July 2014. CEO Dale Bowers said in a press release, "In a short time frame, Bryan has brought new business relationships to CBO and has expanded our market."

Toft's father and uncle are both in the banking business, according to the article, but he began his career in IT after studying computer science at Buena Vista College in Iowa. He switched to a banking career in 2004 and completed his education at the University of St. Thomas in 2008.

His experience in computer science, as a credit analyst and SBA loan expert set the foundation for a new program he introduced at CBO called "Renovate and Restore." The program works with investors and builders to buy, remodel and resell homes.

Community Bank Owatonna is a locally owned institution that opened in 2002. Their mission statement reads, "To create an environment that nurtures personal relationships, fosters quality service, and welcomes change and innovation."
