The Steele County Historical Society will host the 2015 Christmas in the Village December 4-5 at the Village of Yesteryear.

The luminary-lit village featuring strolling carolers will be open from 4:30-8:30P Friday. The Christmas Carol singalong will be in the Saco Church from 5:30-7:30PM. Activities in the schoolhouse include the making of Victorian Christmas crackers and the decorating of a tiny Christmas tree to take home. Kids are invited to take part in the Snow Flake scavenger hunt and take home a gift.

Performers in the decorated Dunnell House on Friday include:

  • 4:30PM, the Koslosky Family
  • 5:30PM, Jacob Pfeifer
  • 6:30PM, Lonna Lysne
  • 7:30PM, Joyce Hansel

On Friday night, the General Store will be the setting for a lefse demonstration offered by the Sons of Norway Nortonna Lodge. Lefse will also be available for purchase that night. A wild rice and soup and chili supper will be offered in the History Center from 4:30-6:30PM Friday.

Stage performers on Friday include:

  • 4:30PM, the Viola Quintet
  • 5:30PM, enjoy the music of Kim Schaufenbuel, Dave Williams and Kim Cosens
  • 6:30PM, Pat Motl

Saturday entertainment at the Dunnell House will begin at 10AM with Tena Hager Dan Hager performs at 11AM, with the Viola Quintet at noon and Jean Stewart at 1PM.

Saturday's lineup at the History Center includes:

  • 10AM, Nordic Notes
  • 11AM, Ellendale/Clarks Grove Area Community Choir
  • noon, Senior Place Golden Tones
  • 12:30PM, Trinity Bell Choir
  • 1PM, Owatonna High School Carolers
  • 1:30PM, OHS Orchestra

Saturday, the History Center will be host to the Artisan Market with a large selection of handcrafted items.

The Nortonna Lodge annual meatball supper will be Saturday night from 5-7PM.

The Holiday Home Tour will take place Sunday, December 6, from noon to 5PM. Tickets with maps are now on sale at the Steele County Historical Society office, Tri M Graphics and Kottke Jewelers. Tickets may be purchased in Blooming Prairie at Johnson, Doerhoefer and Miner along with a Touch of Charm.
