Chris Stapleton's successful 2015 is carrying into the new year, as he has been named the only mainstream country artist to play the 2016 Coachella Music and Arts Festival.

Stapleton will perform on Sunday, April 17 and Sunday, April 24.

The lineup for the annual music festival — one of the hottest in the country, held in Indio, Calif. for two weekends — boasts headliners LCD Soundsystem, Guns N' Roses and Calvin Harris. Americana acts Lord Huron will play on Friday, April 15 and Friday, April 22.

The west coast festival is not known for its country acts, but in past years country and Americana artists have performed, including Sturgill Simpson in 2015. For a complete lineup for 2016 Coachella festival, visit the event's official website. The fest runs April 15-17 and April 22-24.

For Stapleton, the festival announcement is just the beginning of another banner year. Last month, the singer led the Grammy nominations when he received three nods for Album of the Year, Best Country Album and Best Country Song for "Traveller."

Previously, Stapleton became the artist on every country music fan's lips thanks to his memorable performance with Justin Timberlake at the CMA Awards in Nashville in November and his three wins for Best New Artist, Male Vocalist and Album of the Year.

“It’s surreal,” he said of his CMAs wins. “Very unbelievable … It’s a wonderful feeling. And it’s a lot of love. I feel a lot of love. I feel very loved."
