The Awesome Blossoms lost to No. 3AA Kenyon-Wanamingo on Monday night. On Thursday, Blooming Prairie goes to No. 1A Bethlehem Academy.

The Knights swept the match 3-0 by scores of 25-4, 25-10, 25-16. Thursday's match at top-ranked Faribault BA will be carried on Power 96 radio and the RadioPup app. Blooming Prairie is 7-9 overall and 2-1 in the Gopher Conference. Bethlehem Academy has a 6-4 record on a schedule loaded with the top-ranked teams in the state.

Other volleyball results from Monday include NRHEG 3-0 over JWP, Tri-City United won three straight over Waseca and No. 5A WEM edged No. 9A Hayfield 3-2.

Owatonna girls soccer ended in a 0-0 draw with Rochester Century in a make-up from Thursday's rain out. The Huskies B-squad football team rallied from a 12-8 halftime deficit to beat Faribault 38-12 in a make-up game. The OHS freshmen topped the Falcons 52-20.

OHS football has announced they will host a Sack Cancer fundraiser again this year with proceeds benefiting the local charities Relay for Life and From the Heart. The event will be held during the October 7 game against Rochester Mayo. Sack Cancer t-shirts can be ordered through Monday, September 26, at the OHS career center or at the Hat Chic store in downtown Owatonna.
