Cashwise Foods helps with Steele County food drive

Cashwise Foods of Owatonna was recently recognized for its efforts in donating 50,000 meals locally, with the generosity of their customers!

Channel One Food Bank and the Steele County Food Shelf presented a plaque to Cashwise Foods of Owatonna for its donation of over 50,000 meals to those in need.

Store manager Troy Hinrichs accepted the award. Hinrichs makes it goal to reach out to assist community causes. Cashwise Foods held a cook-out fund raiser for Beds for Kids that brought in over $600 for their organization this summer. Beds for Kids helps provide beds for kids in Steele County and the city of Waseca who do not have a bed of their own.

Cashwise Foods also prides itself on doing 'fun stuff' for kids, like hosting several "trick or treat" stations on Halloween.
