Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are intentional about putting their marriage first, and it certainly pays off. Judging by the sweet note Underwood wrote on Instagram as a mini-tribute to her husband before the Nashville Predators Stanley Cup Finals Game 3 on Saturday (June 3), their relationship is stronger than ever.

“I love this man more than words can express,” she says. “I am beyond proud of him ... he is an amazing man of God. He loves his family, his friends and his job. He deserves nothing but the best in this world because he gives nothing but his best to it!”

The Preds beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 on Saturday night.

On Monday (June 5), Underwood hit Instagram again, this time to wish her mate a Happy Birthday. "I'll never forget the day he told me he was asked to wear the 'C,'" she says, referring to the C on his jersey. "I was so proud on that day and I'm even more proud now to see him play in the #StanleyCupFinals."

She adds cheesily, "He's definitely the only FISH in the "C" for me!

Her kind words are a glimpse into the respect and deep love the two have for one another, and despite both having busy careers in the spotlight, they both make family the utmost priority. Even while the Nashville Predators were making their way to the Stanley Cup Final, Fisher still found time to do the “hot dog dance” with his toddler son, Isaiah, before he set off to work. As Underwood suggested in her caption — that’s the kind of man you want as a husband.

Underwood has been supporting her other half at the games, win or lose, throughout the playoff journey, whether singing the National Anthem, getting feisty with the opposition on Twitter, or simply cheering along with the rest of the fans in the stands. Decked out in Preds gear, she’s been posting photos and videos from the games all along the way.

The singer is taking a break from the road (though she did show up at a New Kids on the Block concert recently) to be home with her family (and support the Predators, of course).
