Cabela's of Owatonna hosts their annual Summer Bash on Saturday, August 6, from 10AM to 2PM. Youth 1st and Owatonna Parks and Recreation are also promoting their event.

Kids 16 and younger can fish for free on Cabela's ponds during the Summer Bash. Other activities include minnow races, scavenger hunt and inflatable archery. Hot dogs and root beer floats will be available.

Prize drawings will occur every 30 minutes. The event is free to the public and will be held rain or shine.

Youth 1st of Owatonna is a nonprofit with a mission of "connecting conduct, character and community," according to their website. Youth 1st wants adults and coaches to "put the focus on value based actions like sportsmanship and volunteerism." Youth 1st supports good sportsmanship by rewarding youth teams throughout the year with Real Winning Team Award.

Youth 1st will once again make presentations to several teams during the Steele County Free Fair on the evening of Thursday, August 18, in front of the KRFO stage.

Owatonna Parks and Recreation is now accepting registration for fall sports. They are also hosting one more movie in the park on Friday, August 12, with the screening of Rio 2 in Central Park.
