Owatonna senior Jenna Bogen assisted on the opening goal and scored two in the Huskies 3-1 win over Waseca on Wednesday night. OHS goes to Northfield on Saturday.

Margo Achterkirch broke the ice in the Section 1A quarterfinals with a goal late in the first period with assists to Bogen and Jamie Davison. Waseca scored early in the second to tie the game. Bogen put the Huskies ahead to stay a short time later with assists by Anna Herzog and Achterkirch. Bogen capped the game with a shorthanded marker early in the third. Shannon VanReeth assisted.

OHS outshot Waseca 41-18. The Huskies went 0-for-5 on the power play and were successful on all five penalty kills. It's the second straight year Owatonna eliminated Waseca from the playoffs.

Owatonna goes to Northfield on Saturday for the Section 1A semifinals. Game time is 7PM on KRFO AM 1390. The Huskies lost to the Raiders less than two weeks ago 4-0 after skating to a 1-1 tie in their first meeting. Northfield whipped Albert Lea Wednesday 6-0, while outshooting the Tigers 44-7.

Top-seed Red Wing whipped Winona 11-1. Faribault blanked Austin 3-0. The Falcons will go to the Wingers on Saturday. The semifinal winners will meet Thursday, February 16, at the Four Seasons Centre in Owatonna at 5PM.

In Section 1AA, all the higher seeds won as well. Dodge County beat Rochester JM 3-2, Farmington eliminated Rochester Mayo 6-1 and Lakeville North shutout Rochester Century 7-0. Saturday's semifinals feature Dodge County at top-seed Lakeville South and Farmington at Lakeville North. The winners square off February 16 at Four Seasons in Owatonna at 7:30PM.
