Dakota County officials spent Monday night into Tuesday looking for someone who had apparently drowned on the Vermillion River.

They were searching in the area of County Road 68. Reports from the scene indicated a boat was pulled to shore before a body was recovered. The victim has been identified as  30-year-old Maung Ngae.

A dive team was out using sonar looking for the victim. They issued the following on their Twitter Page:

Drowning victim was located using sonar and recovered by our Dive Team. Our sympathy to the victim's family and all impacted by the incident.
