Playing conditions were windy Saturday for the Hayfield boys golf tournament at The Oaks, but warm, sunny weather left few complaining.

Portions of the course still had ice on it at this time a year ago, Blooming Prairie coach Cory Hendrickson told KRFO. The Awesome Blossom boys took fourth in the 18-team field with a 358 total, led by Tommy Braaten's fifth-place individual finish of 83, one stroke out of a tie for third.

Northfield won the event with 328. Stewartville was second at 329. Hibbing captured third with 343. After Blooming Prairie's 358, LaCrescent had 369.

Hendrickson said, "It was a pretty good day for our guys. We had four relatively new golfers in our lineup who performed well in the windy conditions. It was a competitive tournament with a number of solid players and teams. I was definitely proud or our effort."

Individually, Nick Lechtenberg of Northfield won the meet with 77. Stewartville's Nate Stevens shot 78. Jacob Struif of the Tigers and Henry Hofstad of the Raiders tied for third with 82, just ahead of Braaten's 83. Blooming Prairie's other scores included Lucas Noble with 89, Kollyn Alwes and Austin Behne shot 93, Jon Herron carded a 99 and Austin Christians shot 112.

The Triton boys shot 448. Their counting scores were Noah Woxland with 102, Rhylan Peterson at 108, Deacon Schlichting with 115 and Logan Krupa at 123.
