Following their powerful debut of "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" earlier this week on The Voice, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani will share the stage once again. The couple will perform the song they co-wrote for Shelton's upcoming album If I'm Honest at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

"This is one of my favorite songs I've ever written or recorded," Shelton previously said in a press release announcing the collaboration. "It came from a time and place when Gwen and I were beginning our journey together and both experiencing a hard time letting our guards down with each other. The song couldn't possibly be more honest. I'm honored to have written and to perform this song with the great Gwen Stefani."

This marks the first time the couple will perform together on an awards show.

Shelton and Stefani are the latest acts to be added to the 2016 Billboard Music Awards performance lineup, joining Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Celine Dion, DNCE, Fifth Harmony, the Go-Go’s, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Pink, Britney Spears, Troye Sivan, Nick Jonas and Tove Lo. Additionally, Madonna will pay tribute to the late Prince.

The 2016 Billboard Music Awards will air May 22 on ABC at 8PM ET from Las Vegas. Shelton's album comes out on May 20.

The country singer admits that he and his girlfriend were slightly hesitant to release "Go Ahead and Break My Heart," but ultimately decided to not worry about the reaction.

“We were at a point where it’s like, ‘Do we want to go there? What will people think?’” Shelton reveals. “And then we finally just got to the point where it’s like, ‘You know what? I don’t give a s–t.’”
