Three Owatonna High School music ensembles will perform at the annual Big Nine music festival in Rochester on Friday, according to a report on the Owatonna Magnet website.

The OHS groups taking part are the concert band, concert choir and the symphony orchestra. The festival at John Marshall High School in Rochester runs 8AM to 3PM on Friday, April 29. The public may watch any of the performances for free throughout the day. There will be a select concert featuring some of the top groups of the day at 7:30PM at the JM auditorium and costs $7 for adults and $5 for students.

The Magnet story, written by Eric Reuss, reports that the band and orchestra will each play two songs while the choir will perform six numbers. Rehearsals have been ongoing for months in preparation for this event. The Big Nine music festival is one of the longest-running conference music festivals in the country.

The Magnet also has produced a story by Katie Skalicky on the great start this season of the Huskies girls lacrosse team. They have also posted a video on the robotics team, which will participate at state May 21 at Mariucci Arena.
