The Steele County Historical Society presents a Big Band Festival and Dance on January 29. It will be in the History Center. Entertainment begins at 6PM with Todd Hale and Jerry Peters doing a live recording of the Big Band Show for KRFO. The OHS Jazz Band begins at 6:45PM. Their performance will feature several mystery guest performers. The Deans List Big Band takes over at 8PM. Deans is from Rice Lake, Wis., and features Owatonna native Mara Ostermeier-Schack on lead vocals.

The meal will be served from 6-8PM with entertainment from 6-11PM.

Tickets for the meal and festival are $30 for members and $40 for nonmembers and need to be purchased in advance at either the History Center, Kottke's or Tri-M Graphics.

Admission to just the festival is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. Tickets should still be available at the door but it's encouraged that you purchase these in advance as well.

The menu features Prime Rib Sliders on Pretzel Rolls along with a Mashed Potato Bar, Salad Shooters, Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream and toppings.
