Baseball Season Getting Closer for Twins, Huskies and Saints

The warmer weather has me tempted to grab a baseball and head into the backyard to play a little catch with my son. It probably will snow again, but baseball season is close.

I enjoy the winter sports season. But not winter. With the early onset of spring-like weather, I am looking forward to the start of baseball. Between Twins games on the radio, play-by-play of Huskies games and coaching my son's summer team, I can't get enough of it. This spring we can also add the St. Paul Saints to the local baseball scene. The Saints will play a barnstorming game in Owatonna on Saturday, May 16, against a team of Owatonna Aces and Southern Minny all stars. Stop by the Owatonna Park and Recreation office to get your tickets. Premium seating is $20. General admission is $7 in advance and $10 on the day of the event. Gates will open at noon at Dartt's Park on May 16. The game starts at 3:10 p.m.

KRFO radio is your home for Minnesota Twins baseball all season long. Spring training broadcasts continue through early April. The regular season opens April 6 at Detroit. KRFO will also air the manager's show on Sunday mornings.

We are also excited to present Owatonna High School baseball games on the air and online. The Huskies are the defending Big Nine champions. They shared the title with Rochester John Marshall last spring. Watch for an announcement of the games we will cover.

I am pleased that my son still allows me to be his baseball coach. I enjoy the chance to spend that time with him and his friends.
