There are a couple of agriculture based events coming up in the area. The Rice and Steele Counties will have their Crops day on Tuesday, February 27 at the Rice County 4-H Building in Faribault. Registration begins at 8:30AM with a 9AM discussion on growing soybeans that will out-compete weeds. After lunch more sessions will begin at 12:45PM. The event should wrap up by 2:30PM. Contact your extension office for more information.

The 24th annual Horticulture Day at the Southern Research and Outreach Center of Waseca will take place on Saturday, March 3. You do need to pre-register for this by Monday, February 19. Registration at 8:30AM and the program begins at 9AM when the topic of growing fruit in your home landscape will be offered. A discussion on pollination along with growing and preserving herbs will be offered as well. Seating is limited and the registration fee is $25.
