Andrew Lawrence Chili Cookoff

Saturday, January 27 is the date for the 14th annual Andrew Lawrence Memorial Chili Cook Off. It runs 4-8PM at a new location this year. The Cook Off will be at the Retro Fit company or old Wal Mart Building on Hoffman Drive, Owatonna.

Around 50 different chili's will be available for sampling. Advance tickets are $8 and available at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Owatonna Shoe, Kottke Jewelers, The Kernel and Costa's.. Tickets will be $10 at the door. Through the years, the cook off has raised around $50,000 in scholarship dollars.

Beverages will be available for sale along with hot dogs and other concessions. There are sections featuring past champions, restaurants and a section for future champions. You the participant will vote for the best chili. There will be awards for Chef's Choice in red and white. The People's Choice for red and white. You can vote on the best by past champions and an award for the best restaurant chili. This year 11 eating establishments will be taking part in the cook off.
