And Your Favorite New Lay’s Potato Chip Is…

Remember when it was summer and there were several new flavors of Lay's potato chips that the public was asked to try and then go online and vote the favorite? We even had people who came to our booth at the Rice County Fair to do a taste test.

The new flavors were: Gyro, West CoastTruffle, Southern Biscuits and Gravy, and New York Reuben. And the winner is (drum roll please)... Jerry Groskreutz will like this because of his passion for it when we get them from Bernie's Grill. The winner is Southern Biscuits and Gravy.

It seems to me this was pretty much the favorite flavor of most people I know, and it was my favorite.

According to Lay's, after months of rallying fans across the country to vote for Lay's Southern Biscuits and Gravy, Hailey Green will take home the $1 million grand prize or 1 percent of her winning flavor’s net sales through July 15, 2016, whichever is higher. Lovers of Lay’s Biscuits and Gravy can rejoice. This flavor will remain on store shelves. The three runner-up finalists: Angie Fu from Irvine, Calif., who submitted West Coast Truffle Fries; Jeff Solensky from DuBois, Pa., who submitted New York Reuben; and James Wagner from Wichita Falls, Texas, who submitted Greektown Gyro; each will receive $50,000.

It will be interesting to see what flavors come up for 2016.
