The Steele County Free Fair is off to a hot start Vendors and exhibitors were putting the finishing touches up on their booths Tuesday, and making sure the power was connected and functioning properly. Ride operators also were scurrying around, setting up the finishing touches on their rides, ensuring they worked properly before the first kids lined up for the thrills.

KRFO/Kat Kountry 105 started the day early at the Aurora Diner, and had live reports throughout the day from the fair. We had our first seed spitting and nail driving winners, too, setting the bar high for the rest of this week's competitors.

The fair officially opened with a flag raising and ceremony at 5PM, and rides started then, too.

There's plenty of fun ahead this week as the fair kicks into high gear. For all the details on rides, exhibits, food and entertainment, stay tuned to KRFO AM 1390 and Kat Kountry 105, and look back on previous posts.
